FREE MISC. LESSON - “At Night Song Kid Routines FREEBIE”

by KindyKats
Pre-Kindergarten - 1st Grade

I’m so excited! I’m absolutely thrilled to have 1,600 super followers! To celebrate, here is a song in color and b/w, vocabulary cards that go with the song, and one no-prep printable to supplement your studies of daily routines, day and night, and telling time.

This resource is suitable for Pre-K, Kindergarten, and First Grades, as well as Homeschool and Day Care.

This freebie is found in my Telling Time resource, where you can find songs (sung to familiar tunes) and original poems and chants focusing on the concepts of before/ during/afterday and night, the calendar, days of the week, months of the year, seasons, parts of an analog clock, and telling time to the hour and half hour. Telling time is difficult for young children to understand, but singing the songs in Telling Time will help them grasp some of the concepts associated with it!

About This Resource

There are plenty of things that happen after dark! Bats and owls look for food, the stars and moon come out, fireflies flicker in the summertime. Invite youngsters to brainstorm a list of things they do at night, like watch television, play video games, read books, take baths, look at the stars, brush teeth, and go to sleep.

Copy, laminate, and cut out the vocabulary cards on page 6 or 7. Place them in a pocket chart according to their order in the song. Help children identify and discuss each activity on the cards and then sing this song to “Where, Oh, Where Has My Little Dog Gone?” Later give each child a copy of page 8. Have him draw, color, and write about one thing he does at night.

There is also a suggested movement activity to do with the song. You can also use the vocabulary cards for your anchor charts, for booklet-making, and for center time matching games!

I'd love to have you as a follower! Click on the star at the top of the page to follow me and you'll be the first to know about my latest resources and freebies.

Thanks for stopping by!
