FREE SCIENCE LESSON - “Alligators, Crocodiles & Caymans Pub Domain Clip Art (70+ Images)”

by J MASON EMERSON
Pre-Kindergarten - 12th Grade

This resource has over 70 pictures, photos etc. Most are color photos but a few are black and white drawings. Most are realistic but some are comical caricatures.

You can enlarge or shrink the public domain images’ sizes, move them around, etc. The images are handy for any classroom and any age or ability level but teachers of art and natural studies in science will likely regard them as being of special interest.

Teachers of Pre-K students up will find them handy for using as reward stickers, for classroom décor, etc.

Sources include plates from the colorful 1800s works of John Gould, John James Audubon,

Sincerely,

J. Mason Emerson
Teacher-author

P.S. In my store I have public domain clip art for many other animals as well.

FREE MISC. LESSON - “Morning Routine {Editable} Power Point”

by Barnett's School House
Kindergarten - 6th Grade

Morning routines are the hardest part of training students early in the year. This bright chevron style power point will allow you to do just that. There are five bright chevron colors that slide by as your students follow this rotation guide. This fully editable power point has five rounds of morning routine activities that each row/group of students will learn to follow in an organized manner (teacher guided). The power point is set on a timer so as students come into the room, they will look for their row name to find out what they are to do next. These tasks and all font is fully editable, even the timer for when the slides change is editable. After completing this routine for several weeks, students will begin to flow into the classroom and complete their assigned tasks in an orderly manner. Teaching procedures and classroom routines is a huge task and an important part of success throughout the year. This is just one less thing you will have to worry about. Remember, this power point is fully editable except for the background graphics. You can change this up and use it with your other great ideas as well!

FREE MATH LESSON - “5.2A Math RTI Resource”

by SchoolBoxTreasures
5th Grade

This will be free for a limited time! This is the beginning in a huge project I am currently working on. Feel free to leave feedback so I know you would like to see more! If you have some suggestions or catch any errors, please email me at schoolboxtreasures@hotmail.com so I may get those fixed and this product updated! When this project is complete I will have one of these for each TEK for 5th grade. Possibly other grades if teachers seem to really need and like this! :) So let me know! Please comment on the facebook post for this product athttps://www.facebook.com/SchoolBoxTreasures/ for any suggestions that you would love to see so that I can possibly work those in as I would on finishing the remainder of this project! Thanks again :)

Please note this is for assessment purposes: So you would give the class the pre assessment. Those who master out will do the alternate assignment you have for them or a learning contract activity. Those who did not master out, would meet at your table to work on the skills. You may use any activities you have to teach and practice the skill. The Practice 1 and Practice 2 sheets, are there as quick checks and work samples that you can use as an exit ticket to your table or as part of your practice work. The assessment 1 or 2 would be completed at the end of the week or time period assigned to check for growth.

This product contains a pre-assessment for 5.2A whole numbers and a pre-assessment for 5.2A decimals. There are two "weeks" of practice questions for small group assessment (RTI) for wholes and then for decimals. There are also 2 assessments with 10 questions each for wholes and then decimals.

This could be used for RTI, small group table, tutoring, whole class, staar spiral review and more!

A Gift from the Sea to Start Your Year
By Retta London of Rainbow City Learning

Maybe you have already started your school year, or maybe you are about to start. There are so many wonderful picture books to get your students off to a great start: Enemy PieEach Kindness, and of course First Day Jitters! The best ones, I think, speak to us about how we treat each other and the everyday choices we make

Read Aloud Books for the Beginning of the Year in Middle School
As Teachers, we want our students to step over stumbling blocks, and not be intimidated by obstacles that stand in their way. We want them to realize that they can do anything they set their minds to. Characters in novels can help them overcome these challenges head on, and develop strategies to alleviate them. The books I've chosen to share with you are humorous, thought provoking, and great for 6th graders.

Tried & True Picture Books to Begin the Year
By Kathie Yonemura of Tried & True Teaching Tools
You're never too old to be read to and who doesn't love a good picture book? I always begin the school year reading picture books to my class, rather than jumping right into a novel. (And I continue to read them throughout the year!) There are so many great themes in pictures books, as well as starting points for meaningful discussion.

A Good Book Can Start the Year Off Right
By Tracy Willis of Wild Child's Mossy Oak Musings
My room has a lot of soul. I learned early on in my career that a good book can change my classroom world, create a paradigm shift, and cultivate respect, empathy, imagination and empowerment. I moved around a lot early in my career, so I needed to take those powerful books with me. I never stopped hoarding. Let me tell you about some of my back-to-school teaching treasures.

FREE MISC. LESSON - “2nd Grade Morning Work | 2nd Grade Spiral Review | 2nd Grade Homework {FREE}”

by Primary Teachspiration
2nd Grade

FREE 2nd Grade Morning Work {1 Week}

2nd Grade Morning Work | 2nd Grade Spiral Review | 2nd Grade Homework - This FREE Common Core morning work packet is the perfect way to start your class off with morning routines, while mega-learning is taking place at the same time. Use this sample and do it together with your second graders the very first week of school to set the tone for the rest of the year. You won't regret it!

For the remainder of the year, let your second graders' morning work actually work for them to master essential 2nd Grade Common Core English Language Arts and Math skills by the end of the year through continual daily morning work review. This strategy produced amazing results with my second graders, because they didn't forget what they had learned.

Common Core State Standards covered include:
*ELA - W.2.5, L.2.1, L.2.2
*Math - All Grade 2 Standards as the year progresses

The morning work Language Arts Daily Edit portion of each printable provides two sentences to be edited (using editing marks) and then rewritten correctly as edited. It is more than just a simple "Fix the Sentence" activity. The sentences are designed to practice and spiral review the ELA Common Core Standards of editing, grammar usage, capitalization, punctuation, and spelling patterns. The comprehensive daily editing increases in difficulty and becomes second-nature over time, which helps to strengthen writing abilities in all areas. The sentences are aligned with my particular reading series units, but can be used effectively with any second grade language arts program.

The Common Core Morning Work Math Review portion is designed to practice and spiral review ALL Second Grade Common Core Standards in a repetitive format that increases in difficulty over time, including 5 addition and/or subtraction facts on every page.

For a closer look at how to use this Common Core Morning Work, please see my blog article A PEEK AT A COMMON CORE WEEK.

This Freebie is for the first week of school as a part of the teacher's
introduction to establishing the morning routine.

Included are:
*5 Morning Work practice pages
*Answer Key
*Resource Background
*How To Use Common Core Morning Work
*Editing Marks poster -will serve as a constant reference for
