Roll and Calculate - A Math Game Using Positive and Negative Numbers - $3.25

Roll and Calculate is a hands-on Algebra math game designed to practice the addition and subtraction of positive and negative numbers.  Two players take turns rolling two dice numbered 1-6 and then add or subtract the numbers based on the placement on the game board.  The answer must be agreed upon before the next player takes his/her turn.  This game is easily made more difficult by requiring the players to use dice numbered 5-10.

This is one of my favorite vocabulary activities to do with students. It asks them to re-write the part of speech, definition, synonyms and antonyms for two words within the unit and then create a sentence using BOTH words. The purpose of this activity is to encourage students to find the connections between words and how they relate to one another. Teachers can assess their processing, how they use words in a sentence, their grammar and punctuation all in one exercise.

What a fun activity to do with your Halloween read aloud. This story mobile will get your kids excited about working with fictional elements. After reading a Halloween story you can make this graphic organizer.

This activity includes places where students identify:

• main characters
• setting
• problem
• solution

There are pictures of 2 ghosts, a bat, and a tombstone. The students can also color them. They will then cut them out and hang them with yarn from the moon (title hanger). It is best to make the story mobile on tag so they are a little sturdier.
