I hope everyone's year is going just wonderful. My year has been going great! I am absolutely enjoying my students, all thirty of them. We've been out for snow for eleven whole days now! I'm loving my kiddo time, but I'm dreading making up these snow days at the end of the year!

SCIENCE LESSON - Periodic table lab atomic number group period 5th 6th 7th 8 Jr high middle NGSS
This lesson is great practice to help students to understand the concept of the periodic table, how it is arranged, and how to read and understand the table. Aligned with Next Generation Science Standards MS-PS1-A structure and properties of matter. Students analyze common features of cartoon aliens and explore how the common and varying features align with the regular patterns seen on the periodic table. 5th Grade - "Common Core Math Task Cards"
These tasks cards are a perfect way to review for the standardized tests in the spring. Each question comes directly from the math common core state standards with the standard noted at the bottom of each card. There are three different designs in order to differentiate for various students - open ended (in bright, bold spring design), open ended (in polka dot border so the card looks "cleaner"), multiple choice in polka dot border. You can mix and match the cards as you wish. Although these cards are specific to 5th grade standards for math, 4th grade teachers can use them as challenge questions, and 6th grade teachers can use these to review and solidify concepts taught in 5th grade.

Math Lesson - "Test Prep Morning Worksheets Math and ELA"

Testing is a month or less away for many of us! I've found ways to utilize our math books. I use these sheets as morning work to reinforce my students' understanding of specific Common Core standards in math and ELA. Testing just makes us all go crazy. I don't know about you, but I feel like I can't breath and there's no time to fit everything in. How many of you have had 10+ snow days! That's me!!
Prep your students with review using these math and ELA worksheets. These sheets correlate with the Go Math! series Chapter's 9 and 10, but they can also be used alone. They review fractions, decimals, and symmetry along with several ELA concepts. This works great for 3rd grade as well.

Common Core - "4th Grade Math Common Core Task Cards"

Math Lesson - "Telling Time Bundle - Worksheets, Quizzes, Games and Printables!"

After searching everywhere for a resource that would reinforce telling time lessons, I decided it was time to create one to perfectly fit that need.
Reinforce your telling time lessons with these individual, small group or class activities.
Includes:
- 2 Small Group Games (including Instruction cards)
“I Have, Who has?” (32 playing cards)
“Time Memory” (30 Playing cards)
- 5 Time {Common Core} Practice Worksheets (Telling and showing times on digital and analog clocks, elapsed time and identifying patterns)
- 5 {Common Core Aligned} Quizzes (Telling and showing times on digital and analog clocks, elapsed time, identifying patterns, 1 blank quiz to quiz students on your own time patterns)
- 3 Classroom posters: “Elapsed Time”, “Analog”, “Digital”
- Make your own clock cutout printable (A great tool to use while doing worksheets and quizzes!)
- List of mentor texts for teaching time
- List of helpful online resources for practicing time telling

Academic English Language Arts Vocabulary-6th Grade-Task Cards, Flash Cards & Application

Did you know that researchers have found that “85% of of achievement scores are based on the vocabulary of the standards”? This is a startling number, especially since the new Common Core Standards, the Common Core State Exams, and the P.A.R.C.C. exam already contain challenging reading passages, tricky questions and writing pieces.
After watching my own students struggle, I started doing some research, and I found that there is common link and thread amongst the questions, the standards, and the exams: THE VOCABULARY! Even the vocabulary is relatively consistent across grade levels, plus or minus some words and the difficulty level. Since I have Integrated students (and if you have ESL or Special Education students you can sympathize with me), comprehension and reading is a major struggle for my students; then add vocabulary to this. If they cannot get past the vocabulary in the question, most likely they cannot answer the question correctly; hence, my idea.
Included in this 6th GRADE bundle:
1. 45 ACADEMIC VOCABULARY TASK CARDS-20 Critical Verbs and 25 Critical Nouns
2. An application activity for the task cards that includes an answer key
3. Flash cards for all 45 Cards
4. Bingo cards, and a list of activities
