FREE LANGUAGE ARTS LESSON - “Back to School Mystery Game”

This game can be used as an ice breaker on the first day of school. Clues describing everyday school items are read by the teacher. The clues begin as very vague to actually naming the object. The teacher can use this in small groups or large groups with a partner. I have revised this game from the original copy.

FREE LANGUAGE ARTS LESSON - “FREE Reading Escape Room | Informational Text & Evidence”

This FREE 4th Grade Reading Escape Room is a high-interest, no-prep ELA activity designed to give your students rigorous practice with complex informational texts. Perfectly aligned to the ELA standards, this resource features three levels of challenges that feel like a game but function like a deep-dive test prep session.

This escape room uses EBSR (Evidence-Based Selected Response) style questions (Part A/Part B) to mirror the format students will see on state testing. Each passage is written at a "stretch" Lexile level between 800-900 to challenge your upper-elementary readers and build the stamina needed for 4th-grade literacy success.

Level 1: The Graveyard of the Atlantic – Explore the history and science of New Jersey shipwrecks. Covers standards RI.4.1, RI.4.2, RI.4.3
