Pre-Kindergarten - 1st Grade
Hi,
This is a sample of one of my easy to read alphabet books to use with kindergarten and struggling first graders (at the beginning of the year). There is a color and a black and white copy of the book for you to see if this is something you're interested in for your little people. The book focuses the letters of the alphabet while highlighting color words and kindergarten Popcorn words. Each book has 8 pages of text along with a picture of an item beginning with the letter. This is part of a larger packet which you can find here: https://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/A-Complete-Set-of-Easy-Reader-Alphabet-Books-422568
How I teach each book:
1. I model reading the book to the children
2. We highlight the special letter the book's focus is on (for example: if the book is "I can see a" then we will use highlighters or a light colored crayon to highlight all of the a's in the book.
3. Next we "popcorn" around each of the "popcorn" words to reinforce
4. Finally, we color the color words and if using the black and white books, students can also color the pictures according the to text.
I hope you enjoy my easy to read alphabet books!
