FREE MATH LESSON - “Making Ten/What Makes Ten? {Freebie}”

by Evenings With Drake
1st - 2nd Grade

This math resource was created for the purpose of helping and assisting students with the practice of making ten. This product is directly correlated and aligned with the Number and Operations in Base Ten and the Operations and Algebraic Thinking math standards for both 1st and 2nd grades.
What's Included?
*“What Makes Ten?” Half-Sheet Desk/Folder Chart
*“What Makes Ten?” Whole Sheet Anchor Chart
*Three (3) “What Makes Ten?” Lesson Printables
Gentle Suggestions/Tips/Reminders:
*INK SAVER ALERT! All student pages within this resource have been produced using black, white, or gray ink. SUGGESTION: Copy the desk charts and anchor chart on bright colored paper to give them a look that “pops!”
*There is a half-sheet desk chart for two-addend combinations for ten included with this resource. Just simply print, copy, and cut--you’re good to go! TIP: Have your kiddos place a copy of the desk chart into their math folders for use during math workshop/rotations/centers; during RTI; or morning/bell/seat work. You may also wish to have your students place copies of these charts into their homework folders, as well.
*“What Makes Ten?” lesson extension printables can be used for homework; for morning/bell/seat work; as informal assessments; during math workshop, etc.
*There are no answer keys included in this resource.
TIP: You may want to “write in” all of the answers for each printable and place these “answer keys” in a prominent area of your classroom, such as a whiteboard or a math wall.
Happy making ten! :)
