This listening activity has students listening to approximately a one minute audio about the coronavirus in Italy . Topic follows the AP Unit 5 Factors that Impact the Quality of Life and/or Unit 6 Environmental, Political and Societal Challenges (Sfide Globali). This activity is relatively simple and can easily be used in a Pre-AP class as well. Can be done together as a class, assigned for homework or for teaching remotely from home!

This six page math handout targets identifying fractional parts in lowest terms and working with equivalent fractions. In each message set, specific words are given. The students are instructed to figure out the correct fractional part of each particular word. If each fractional part is correctly identified, when the letters are written on the lines provided, a new word is created. Each set of new words becomes a message about the month of April.

The BEST Questions for the BEST Children’s Book! Using effective instructional and comprehension strategies, this chapter-by chapter guide includes background information, vocabulary, questions, character, story, and theme maps, as well as numerous ideas for end of novel projects—all with answer keys for busy teachers and parents. Writing prompts at the end of each chapter are derived from the content of the story, but they emphasize simple events from young lives that make student composition easy.
