FREE LANGUAGE ARTS LESSON - “Christmas Snowball Writing Activity”

by Making ELA Matter
6th - 10th Grade

If you are looking for a quick, engaging activity to keep your students busy on one of those last days before the Christmas holidays, look no further! This lesson is a simple, completely-done-for-you print and go activity that has students reading, writing and collaborating with their peers.

The directions are simple: each student picks a prompt and begins a story. After a designated amount of time, students crumple the paper and have a "snowball fight" to exchange papers, read what is there and continue the story. After exchanging 3 or 4 times, students share the stories. If you have a particularly rowdy bunch, you can easily adapt this activity by assigning groups and having them exchange among their groups without the snowball fight.

I hope you find this activity useful in your classroom. Thank you for stopping by my store!
