Summarizing, Teaching Summary, Getting the Gist
This poster set is meant to help readers form more accurate and organized summaries of fiction and non-fiction text. Why is that important? Summarizing challenges readers to focus on the big picture, paraphrase the author's words, and determine which events are the most important to the overall theme of the book. Readers will have a formula for sequentially summarizing literature, and creating a text-based gist for informational text. Hope this proves useful!
