Teach your middle school (grade 5, grade 6, grade 7, grade 8) students how to write a detailed structured paragraph with a lesson that includes a teacher example to model clear expectations. Task: Students will choose a person to dedicate the day's learning to. They will learn how to write an appropriate paragraph from the provided lesson and practice prewriting to brainstorm and plan before writing a good copy. The final product is a dedication with a picture on a slideshow. Students can take turns presenting their dedications on different days at the start of class.
The goal of this assignment is to start the day positively and to build a safe and supportive classroom environment for learning. Classmates will learn more about each other which builds a sense of community and belonging in your classroom.
