These five activities - to be completed over the course of two weeks -- help children and young adults practice mindfulness to help promote happiness, self-worth, emotional control, and self-regulation. Activities are specifically tailored to children and young adults and use research-based metacognitive techniques to help students become happier, more compassionate, healthier human beings.
The activities include warm-ups, critical thinking and interactive notebook pages - as well as opportunities to think-pair-share and actively engage each other and themselves - as well as incorporate symbols and reminders into their daily lives to ensure the lessons transcend into lifelong positive habits.
Why Teach Mindfulness
Researchers have linked mindfulness to positive outcomes. Mindfulness is a great strategy for anyone - including those struggling with depression, anger, management, lack of attention, behavioral concerns or those who just need a refresher in kindness and self- value.
