FREE LANGUAGE ARTS LESSON - “Winter Themed Category Game - Cool Categories - Freebie”

Kindergarten - 4th Grade

Contents: 32 category cards and 8 game cards. (8 of the category cards are ‘easier’ broad categories, the remaining 24 are narrower categories). 1 game board. 

Preparation: Print on cardstock, cut up and laminate cards; prepare as many copies as you want. Print and laminate the game board. You will need one die and a counter for each player. 

Game play: Players take it in turns move around the game board and pick up a card when they land on the relevant square. They then name items from the given category. The number of items to name can be chosen by the players at the start of the game. 
If they can name the desired number of items, the player keeps the card. If you pick up a “put all your cards back” card, players have to put all their cards back! The player with the most cards at the end, wins.
