How to Survive as a Firefly by Kristen Foote is an engaging, creative book about the life cycle of a firefly. The young fireflies awaken to be taught by one of the older, "in the trenches" adults.
This free writing activity asks students to take what they have learned from the book to compose their own story about their "Day as a Firefly." This freebie includes a special planning page with directions, key vocabulary words, final writing paper, and the cute firefly decoration for assembling the final project.
