FREE LANGUAGE ARTS LESSON - “Syllable Sort, Food, Common Core RF.K.3, Phonemic Awareness”

by 123kteach
Pre-Kindergarten - 1st Grade

Students will sort foods under each shopping cart to represent how many syllables there are in each food word. Differentiated recording sheets are included. You can also have students do a fun cut-and-paste activity. This makes a great pocket chart activity for literacy centers or to use in small groups. Two recording sheets with primary lined paper are included for the students to write their responses down under one, two, or three-syllable words. There are also two sets of cards for sorting. One set has pictures and words and the other set has just the pictures but no words. Choose what is best for your students.

Recognizing syllables in words is part of the Common Core {RFK.2.}

A link to a special freebie is also included in the download. Don't miss out on this opportunity.
