FREE MATH LESSON - "Snowmen Noses Estimation"

by First Grade Diva Creations
1st - 2nd Grade

This free resource was featured in the Teachers Pay Teachers weekly newsletter on February 2, 2014!  It is such a great way to build number sense that I wanted to share it here!

Estimation is such an important mathematical skill. Repeated exposure to estimation activities leads to much stronger number sense. I love this estimation activity during the winter season. I use baby carrots for the snowmen noses in this lesson. Students love this activity so much that I often do it a couple of times with different sized jars.
This free resource includes three different recording sheets so you can do this activity three times during the winter season!
