FREE LANGUAGE ARTS LESSON - “FOLKTALES The Polar Bear Son: An Inuit Tale”

by Sweet Integrations
2nd - 3rd Grade

The Polar Bear Son: An Inuit Tale, retold and illustrated by Lydia Dabcovich, is a folktale that has been handed down for generations. It's a tale about an old woman who finds a polar bear cub and raises it as her son. In this unit, I've provided a folktale poster, a reading passage about the Inuit people, comprehension questions, facts about the polar bear printable, and characteristics of the old woman.
