FREE SOCIAL STUDIES LESSON - “The Girl Who Thought in Pictures Temple Grandin Book Reflection”

by My Happy Place
Kindergarten - 2nd Grade

This follow-up activity to Julia Finley Mosca’s The Girl Who Thought in Pictures: The Story of Dr. Temple Grandin, allows students to reflect on the life of Temple Grandin while making text-to-self connections. With the included worksheet, students draw and write about an aspect (or aspects) of themselves that make them unique.

This activity is best completed after a class discussion about Dr. Grandin and the characteristics that made her unique as a child and as an adult (as well as how those characteristics contributed to her success as an adult). The worksheet is included with two different line styles/sizes. Choose the page that will work best for your students. Additional lined pages are included if you wish to have children write more than will fit on the worksheet.
