FREE LANGUAGE ARTS LESSON - “Two-Footed Questions Invite Curiosity for Any Topic”

by Ellen Weber - Brain based tasks for growth mindset
6th - 12th Grade

Looking to start an interesting and in-depth discussion that engages students from the get-go? Then you'll enjoy the two-footed questions illustrated in this video. I hope you like it as much as your students will delight in adding another foot to questions.

My students often remind me to get my two-pronged queries out as writing prompts, since two footed questions link to their unique interests and draw their curiosity into the center of texts or topics. Not surprisingly they learn more in less time, and with fun added.

Launch active and energized teams with questions designed to drawn in all participants. Before long you will find these questions are student-led, and the video shows tips to get them going.

Analyze content for test prepsince these questions invite reflection from a variety of angles in ways that have all students speaking up and feeling heard.

Stoke hot-topic interactions and watch students draw connections between their lives, current issues and any text that relates to your lesson goals.

How will these unique and engaging probes awaken curiosity for your next class?

Do follow my TpT site and keep up with brain-friendly materials to enhance your class.

Here are cool cards with additional 2-footed questions you can use alongside the interactive guides in this book.Cool Card Games for Two-footed Questions
