Need a working memory activity that will be fun and engaging? This no prep digital Boom Cards brain exercise activity is perfect for practicing executive functioning skills and developing working memory! Your kiddos will be able to improve their memory and cognitive ability using these challenging brain exercises.
This mind game activity can be used for distance or hybrid learning - or face to face teaching!

How this Auditory Memory Activity works:
- Students are presented with a series of tasks. In each task, they are shown 3 open doors, each with an emoji face in the doorway. These doors remain open for a certain amount of time and then close, hiding the faces. The students need to study these doors and faces while they are open.
- The students then move to the next card and are asked a question to test how well they remember the doors and faces.
- As the students move through the deck, the doors close more and more quickly (initially they remain open for 20 seconds, but by the end of the deck they are only open for 5 seconds). Please note: the 5 second cards are quite challenging - it may be necessary to practice the other cards a number of times before attempting the 5 second cards, or to use the 5 second cards as a bonus round!
- There are 4 different question types.
PLEASE NOTE:
This deck contains Once-off GIFs (GIFs that finish their animations and then remain static). If you wish to play the deck again after completing it, using the “Play Again” button will not reload the GIFs, so their animations will still be finished. If you are using a BROWSER, you can simply RELOAD THE PAGE, and the GIFs should work again. If you are using the BOOM CARDS APP, you need to EXIT COMPLETELY (not just minimize) AND THEN REOPEN THE APP in order to reload the GIFs.

This fun Brain Development Activity includes:
- 9 Boom Cards
- 1 instruction card
- 4 cards showing faces in doorways for a certain period of time, before the doors close, hiding the faces.
- 4 cards asking the students a question, testing if they can remember the faces in the doorways on the previous card.
- Boom Cards are self-checking and students get instant feedback!
- If students are correct they hear a "ding" sound and can proceed to the next card to receive the next instruction.
- If students are incorrect they hear "whoops". They will need to try again, or "Give up" to move to the next card.
